Aloha, I'm Lehua. Music has always been a big part of my life and I guess you could say music is in my blood.

My father and is brothers and sisters played music in Hilo and were known as the "Hilo Kalimas." I grew up singing with my three older sisters and two older brothers at Haili church and playing on the beaches of Keaukaha.

I went to Kamehameha School in seventh grade where I met Angela and Nalani!

Lately, my favorite activity has been playing with my two children, but I also enjoy playing guitar and piano. While my family is the biggest joy in my life, playing music and writing songs comes in at a close second.

Lehua Heine, a Big Island native,
went to the University of Hawaii-Hilo where she double majored in Hawaiian studies and communications.

She completed her Master's degree in ethnomusicology and wrote her thesis
on contemporary Hawaiian music.

She was a legislative assistant for the Hawaii County Council prior to making singing her career.

I married my high school classmate Kalama in 2000.

We have 3 children - a daughter Malie (6 years old in Nov.) and 2 sons Kalamaku (4 years old in August) and the newest is Kekuaokalani Kialoa Heine, born May 21, 2006, 8 lbs. 2 oz. 21 inches long.

We also have a cat, "Alohi."

I keep my body and mind in shape by paddling outrigger canoes with Hui Lanakila canoe club, golfing, running,
working out at 24 Hour Fitness and
dancing hula with Ka Pa Hula O
Kauanoe O Wa'ahila.
