Aloha, I'm Lehua. Music has always been a big part of my life and I guess you could say music is in my blood. My father along with his brothers and sisters played music in Hilo and were known as the "Hilo Kalimas." I grew up singing with my three older sisters and two older brothers at Haili church and playing on the beaches of Keaukaha.
I went to Kamehameha School where, in the seventh grade, I met Angela and Nalani. I attended the University of Hawaii-Hilo and double majored in Hawaiian Studies and Communications. I also worked as a historical researcher for an archaeological company and was a legislative assistant for the Hawaii County Council prior to making singing my career.
Lately, my favorite activity has been spending time with my three children - my daughter Malie (born in 2000) and my two sons Kalamaku (born in 2002) and Kialoa (born in 2006). We also have a siamese cat "Alohi" who's been with me since 1991!! I keep my body and mind in shape by running, surfing, paddling canoe, golfing, kickboxing, doing yoga and working out at 24 Hour Fitness Centers.
While my family is the biggest joy in my life, playing music, writing songs, and enjoying time with good friends are also at the top of my list! Thanks for visiting our website. Write to us online!
